Huckleberry Pudding Recipe
Here is an old recipe for huckleberry pudding that people who love huckleberries may want to try to cook. It has been a long time since this huckleberry pudding recipe was used. The earliest puddings were baked and came out more like pies or custards. What we call pudding today is very different from the original pudding recipes. Blood sausage is an example of a medieval pudding recipe.
Although today we use pudding to describe a dessert dish the word was originally used to describe various recipes using sausage and grains.
Two eggs and 1 small cup of granulated sugar creamed together. Four tablespoonfuls of cold water.
Add 1 cup of sifted flour containing 1 teaspoonful of baking powder, and 1 cup of huckleberries and bake.
Serve with milk or any sauce preferred.
